Bridge

Also known as cross-chain bridge blockchain bridge

A bridge is a system that moves tokens or messages between two blockchains. A common approach locks tokens on one chain and issues a matching, wrapped representation on the other. Bridges may rely on a group of operators, external validators or cryptographic proofs, and these trust assumptions differ greatly. Because they often hold large pools of locked funds, bridges have been frequent targets of hacks.
