Peg
Also known as pegged price peg
A peg is a target price that an asset is designed to track, such as one US dollar for many stablecoins or the price of another token for a wrapped asset. The peg is maintained through mechanisms like holding reserves, allowing redemptions or adjusting supply. Small deviations are common, especially during market stress. A sustained or large move away from the target is known as a depeg.
