Slippage
Also known as price slippage
Slippage is the difference between the price a trader expects and the price at which the trade actually executes. It happens when prices move while an order is processed or when an order is large compared with available liquidity, so it fills at progressively worse prices. On decentralised exchanges, users often set a slippage tolerance; too tight and trades fail, too loose and they may be exploited by front-running bots.
